GENRE PROGRAM IN FAMILY RESILIENCE AND WELFARE DEVELOPMENT

·         What is GenRe
·         One attempt of creating a high-quality and good-character young generation in the future. This program had been starting since 2010 through the created program with Counseling Information Center (PIK). This program is foreshadowed by many cases befalling the young generation such as free sex, abortion, drug abuse, and HIV/AIDS.

Background of GenRe Program Creation
·         The adolescent problems today are the example of very complex problem, such as NAPZA and HIV AIDS case in 2008
·         In which 51,986 (45.04%) of users are adolescent (16-24 years old). 5,484 (4.75%) of them are students and 4,055 (3.52%) are college students.
·         For HIV and AIDS case, it indicates that nearly a half (45.9%) of  26,463 persons (cumulative AID case) derives from 20-29 year age group. (Source: BNN, 2008)

GenRe Program
·         Is implemented through 2 approach programs: the approach to the adolescents themselves through the development of adolescents/college students PIK (PIK R/M) and the approach to parents through Family Adolescents Building Group Development.
·         There is another program, What is it?

How is the correlation between GenRe and Family Resilience and Welfare
·         Seeing the extent to which those programs can involve the society in the attempt of empowering them to improve their standard of living.
·         The society development programs are undertaken by considering such principles as: 1) participation, 2) empowerment, 3) independency, 4) cooperation, sustainability, and (6) partiality to lower-class society
·         So that the society problems can be accommodated by the central level through the GenRe program, to be solved for achieving the Indonesian Family Welfare.

The role of College Students (GenRe Ambassador) in achieving the society welfare program
·         Socialization???
·         Concrete Form
·         The establishment of Grievance Community around adolescent problems in the society.

1.      Useful as the communication and counseling forum that is educative in nature and an alternative that can be distributed among other adolescents to be applied in daily life.
2.      Considering the data above, the preventive attempt against HIV/AIDS and NPZA should be done early to the adolescents. In order to deal with these adolescent problems, the government had made some attempts through a variety of programs implemented cross-institution. Through BKKBN.
3.      GenRe program is also socialized through various media (printed and electronic)
The GenRe college student ambassador selection is held as the figure of motivator.
Why?
It is felt more effective because the established communication is done with the from, by, and for student approach.
In society environment, the icon of ambassador generally gives additional value in implementing the program socialization.
4.      The nation’s future is highly affected by the quality of young generation currently, recalling that the adolescent is the very valuable asset and later will become the determinant of development success in the future.

a)      the form of socialization includes
we as the GenRe ambassador student begins the preventive attempt from ourselves, and then gradually do sharing with our friends in campus/residence environment.
Example: socialization about the effect of early marriage → appropriate solution → preventive attempt in pengajian or karang taruna event.
Because human being is basically a social/societal creature, according to Aristotle, called as “Zoon Politicon, so that she/he should be able to live reasonably being alone.
b)      The concrete form includes
We cooperate with the Central Government in implementing sexual education at schools. However, we should hold survey first or distribute questionnaire to the students. What are the problems, what do they know about sex. Thus, in the future, we know how to solve the problems.
According to dr. Boyke Dian Nugraha, SpOG.
Sexual education does not improve the sexual activity but will improve an individual’s awareness of his/her reproductive health.
c)      Try to establish the Adolescent Problem Grievance Community within the society.
That presumably can accommodate their grievances → help solve the problem  → give support or morale education to the society.
